We want to share our walk with you that we guided for a private group of 10 the other day!
It was a circular walk from Es Bol Nou-Cap Jondal with a swim & snorkel included.
We like to walk along paths and trails, and get lost in the forest to discover new landscapes. Hidden corners and vertiginous cliffs, sculpted by rain, wind and sea.
Today we started the route in the Bol Nou beach car park. We walked along an interior path that leads to a smaller path through the forest. In a few minutes, we reached the coast, at the southern end of Jondal beach, we begin to climb slowly. Stopping every two steps to contemplate the wonderful sight that fills our retinas with color and grandeur!
We have chosen a special guided walk, not very long, but with a slight slope that will take us to the top of Puig Jondal. From here we can contemplate the immensity of the Mediterranean and, on clear days like today, we can see the silhouette of the Montgó Massif in the Alicante coast (mainland Spain)
When descending we are careful as we pass close to the edge of the cliff formed by clay and rocks. Another stop is obligatory to contemplate Cap Llentrisca and the famous islet, es Vedrà that appears to the west.
We can see a wall built by the first settlers and I wonder what we know about the prehistory of the island? We are in an area with traces of ancient civilizations who first landed in Ibiza. Stones that witnessed the hustle and bustle of daily life of our ancestors.
We continue to walk along a path lined with pine, juniper and mastic trees. The festival of the landscape continues, we have before our eyes Sa Caleta, Ibiza. We can also see es Codolar on the horizon with the Salinas salt flats and Cap Falcó.
The water is so crystal clear that it allows us to see the posidonia sea grass meadows rooted in the white sand of the bay.
We go down a steep staircase that leads to the boat dock houses where some fishermen keep their boats and traditional gear.
After a brief tour of the rocks we stepped on the sand of the beach. We cannot ignore the call of the sea, the time has come to swim! The water is cool and we are hot, what happiness!
